Top Personal Finance Blogs

I am proud to let you know that our blog is now listed among Money Crashers’ top personal finance blogs! I really like this list, mainly for three reasons – besides the fact that the MoneyObedience blog is included.

(1) The list at Money Crasher stands out in that it doesn’t just rank on one characteristic or a few of them. Instead, it uses a bunch of different metrics that are combined to calculate a relative score for each blog. A perfect score is 100. While the usual well-known personal finance blogs are on top in this list, none has a perfect score since no single blog ranks at the top in every element.

(2) You can sort the list in many different ways. You can use any of the metrics used like Feedburner Subscribers, Twitter Followers, Alexa Rank, Compete Rank, Technorati Rank, Google PageRank, Yahoo Inbound Links, mozRank, and SEMRush Search Value. But you can also group the blogs together into the categories that Money Crashers assigns to each blog according to the blog’s content. You can find categories like Credit & Debt, Investing, Deals & Coupons, Frugality, and Christian Finance.

(3) A list like that allows you, the reader, to find blogs with which you can connect. Some blogs speak to you, others don’t, depending on your personal preferences. This is just as personal as “personal” finance itself. There is not one size that fits all, but each one of us has got to find our own approach that works for us, as an individual.
