Vilna is the President of Vilkri, Inc. She has broad interests and a diverse background. Vilna is not one to love numbers, charts, financial tables, and financial models, even though she spent years studying economics and demography. Still, she is keenly aware that financial issues are an important part of modern life, and she has a strong focus on her own personal finances. Her concern for other's financial and emotional wellbeing prompted her to push for the development of moneyobedience.com.
Vilna has a master's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master's in international affairs from Columbia University's School of Public and International Affairs, and a Ph.D. in sociology (in demography and the sociology of economic change) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also the author of several academic articles, and a book entitled Survival of the Knitted. She has many interests that - between vilkri.com, and research and teaching - she has little time for! She is an artist (oil painting, with interests in stained glass) and knitter, and also an avid cook. The next personal goal on her list is to learn to speak German.
